 Test Engineer

Shift:                      Monday to Friday    6:00 am – 3:00 pm

Job Summary:      

The Test Engineer is responsible for supporting Samtec HDR (High Data Rate) Cable Assembly Work Center for all Cable Electrical Testing processes, problem solving and design modifications while interfacing with global quality and engineering groups. Additional support or consultation can be requested and review case by case.

Functions:

  1. Design Test Tooling assemblies for Electrical Test of new products (FTB).
  2. Create process documentation for Electrical Test processes.
  3. Create and qualify E-test programs using Test Designer software.
  4. Support production floor for troubleshooting Low and High Speed Test Systems.
  5. Perform failure analysis of Electrical Test failed product and determine root cause with support from Global Samtec teams.
  6. Cooperate with global Samtec teams to maintain Samtec HDR product serialization system.
  7. Part number creation and configuration in Samtec serialization and tracking software.
  8. Cooperate with control engineer, process engineer, manufacturing engineer for transfer project & sustaining improvement project on Electrical Test side.

 Requirements:

  • Electronic, Electrical or Electromechanical engineer baccalaureate or licenciatura degree.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and provide solutions on a timely manner.
  • Experience in manufacturing environment of complex assemblies is a plus.
  • Intermediate English proficiency and engineering tech literate.
  • Ability to integrate, lead and work in high-performance teams.
  • Skillful in problem/root cause analysis.
  • Customer-driven focus.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks & AutoCAD.
  • Proficiency in OrCAD Allegro is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Project Management.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Proactive & eager to improve.
  • Excellent interpretation of engineering prints and drawings.
